We are a newly established asbestos laboratory based in Chorley town centre, offering a modern, professional and supportive working environment. Our laboratory uses up-to-date technology and processes, and we are proud to promote a friendly team atmosphere while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
The RoleWe are looking for a qualified BOHS P401 Asbestos Bulk Analyst to join our growing team. You will play a key role in supporting the laboratory’s daily operations, ensuring accurate analysis and reporting of bulk asbestos samples in line with industry standards.
Salary: £27-£30k dependant on experience
Key Responsibilities- Carry out bulk asbestos sample preparation and analysis using microscopy techniques
- Identify asbestos fibres and record results accurately
- Ensure work is completed in line with UKAS / ISO 17025 principles (where applicable)
- Maintain accurate records, worksheets, and reporting documentation
- Follow laboratory procedures and health & safety requirements at all times
- Support quality control checks and participate in continuous improvement
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laboratory workspace
- BOHS P401 qualification (or equal)
- Previous experience in asbestos bulk analysis (preferred but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
