We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeper for our growing, family-run business.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly team where everyone works together and where your contribution truly makes a difference.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
* Monitoring the accounts email inbox and organising invoices and financial documents
* Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and payments
* Recording daily shop cash and card sales from Excel spreadsheets
* Preparing and making weekly supplier payments via online banking
* Reconciling bank accounts and petty cash weekly, investigating and resolving discrepancies
* Checking supplier statements and resolving queries
* Managing credit control and chasing overdue payments
* Preparing VAT returns, PAYE payments, and completing regular finance tasks
* Supporting general office administration when required, including answering the phone
* Assisting customers with ordering queries where needed
About You
We’re looking for someone who is experienced, organised, and enjoys being part of a small, hardworking team.
You will have:
* A minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping experience
* A relevant qualification (AAT or equivalent)
* Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Microsoft Office
* A solid understanding of basic accounting principles
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
* A professional, approachable manner
* Strong problem-solving skills and good common sense
Working Hours
* 20–25 hours per week
* Tuesday to Friday (3–4 days)
* Flexible start time
* The business closes at 4:00pm
