Position: Accounts Assistant (Permanent)

ALF Recruit are delighted to be exclusively supporting a well-established and highly respected accountancy practice in their search for a motivated and detail-driven Accounts Assistant.

This is a fully office-based role, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

You’ll be joining an established team of bookkeepers and accountants, working across a diverse client portfolio. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll build strong technical skills and gain valuable practice experience.

* Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing accounts for a range of clients

* Processing sales and purchase invoices

* Reconciling ledgers and accounts

* Preparing and submitting VAT returns

* Supporting payroll processing when required

* Assisting with month-end and year-end accounts preparation

* Supporting senior accountants with client reporting and queries

* Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures

About You

* 1–2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role

* Experience with in an accountancy practice environment would be advantageous

* Confident using Excel and accounting software

* Highly organised with strong attention to detail

* A team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment

* Comfortable managing deadlines and client expectations
