Third Party Supply Controller
Owen Mumford is looking to hire a Third Party Supply Controller for maternity cover. This role is full‑time on a fixed‑term contract of 15 months and based at the Chipping Norton site.
ScopeAs the Third Party Supply Controller you will be responsible for planning, purchasing and fulfillment of finished product produced by Owen Mumford’s third‑party manufacturing partners and affiliates, and the creation and communication of production forecasts. You will ensure orders are supplied on time in full, and inventory/customer service targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Effective execution of OML’s Third Party Finished Product sourcing strategy, ensuring an effective order management process is maintained and aligned to the relevant sales/demand forecasts.
- Periodic update and communication of supply forecasts, ensuring all third parties receive applicable demand forecasts in adherence to their supply agreement.
- Maintain requisition, submission and communication of all Purchase Orders for Third‑Party Finished Product. Ensure orders align to the Supply Chain Inventory Strategy.
- Provide clear, focused communication to senior members to ensure purchase orders above authority are approved without delay.
- Coordinate with the Transport Planning team to ensure all orders are collected/despatched on time and in alignment to the UK OIS Transport Strategy.
- Execute Demand Management strategy for third‑party finished product, capturing and analysing PESTLE trends, identifying risks, and communicating to stakeholders.
- Monthly review of supply chain inventory associated with third‑party finished products, ensuring required levels are maintained.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve forecast accuracy, inventory alignment, processes, and cost optimisation.
- Build and maintain sustainable relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally.
- Accountable for executing supply chain strategy for each new product launch, conducting S&OE meetings, raising purchase orders, and managing until Business as Usual.
- Communicate impending changes to supply strategy: supplier location, volumes, mode of transport, packing specs, part numbers.
- Update and publish KPI’s & metrics related to third‑party finished product supply, conduct trend analysis, identify improvements, and elevate underperformance.
- Proven track record of delivering benefits with third‑party suppliers through sustainable relationship management.
- Experience analysing data at macro and micro levels to drive data‑driven decisions.
- Experience working with global suppliers (Asia, Europe, North America).
- Experience with MRP systems.
- Demonstrable knowledge of inventory control disciplines and best practice.
- Experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing in a global, fast‑paced environment.
- Remote working – up to 2 days per week.
- Flexi time – 37.5 hrs/week with core hours 9:30‑12:00, 2:00‑4:00 (3:30pm Fridays).
