ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical Project Manager position is a dynamic opportunity that is the driving force behind project planning, administration, purchasing, engineering, marketing, and installation processes for small to medium-sized electrical construction projects including commercial, health care, data center, and light & heavy industrial work in Wisconsin and the Greater Twin Cities area. Your responsibilities include cultivating and nurturing customer relationships, directing and supervising project teams to uphold contractual commitments and compliance, and managing projects with an eye for economic efficiency while maintaining a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain existing and develop new customer relationships to secure future projects.
  • Direct and supervise service technicians, general foremen, foremen and their crews that comply with the contracts executed by Hunt Electric Corporation, union agreements, and all policies.
  • Manage assigned projects as economically as possible while recognizing commitment to customer satisfaction, quality workmanship and positive industry relationships.
  • Prepare, process and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and billing necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Direct the planning of the project through purchasing, engineering, subletting and scheduling.

When necessary, work with a team during the bidding process.

COMPENSATION

$90,000 - $125,000 + discretionary bonus + employee ownership + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only. In addition to base compensation, Hunt Electric offers a robust benefits plan.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a project manager in the electrical industry.
  • Ability to understand design/build requirements as well as the scope of the contract documents issued for the electrical work to be performed.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the electrical industry.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and the coordination of manpower and resources.
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the tasks.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to train, delegate, and coordinate work of Assistant Project Manager, Estimators, and other team members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and photocopiers.
  • This position is occasionally required to be present on construction job sites and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, uneven terrain, vibration and noise. This would require the occasional use of a hard hat, work boots, high visibility vest, eye protection and other safety equipment.
  • Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or stand.
  • This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as needed.
  • This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
