Chippewa County is accepting applications for a part-time Dementia Care Specialist position within the Department of Human Services Aging and Disability Resource Center Division. Responsibilities- Provide information and assistance, memory screening, person-centered support, consumer and ADRC advocacy, support group facilitation and outreach activities for persons with dementia and those who provide emotional and caregiving support to them.
- Engage in significant public speaking and collaborate to bring dementia-related services to Chippewa County.
- Support other duties as assigned within the scope of the Dementia Care Specialist.
- Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Health or Human Services related field required. - Minimum of two (2) years' experience working directly with individuals with dementia and their family and/or informal caregivers required.
- Caregivers Required. Experience in public speaking and engaging community members and professionals required.
- Experience in program development, implementation and creation of reports required.
- Certification in Memory Screening within six (6) months of hire required.
- Certification in DICE, Savvy Caregiver, Powerful Tools for Caregiving or other evidence-based program determined by the ADRC Manager within one (1) year of hire required.
- Valid driver's license required. Cell phone recommended.
