Position: Resident Care Supervisor (CNA Supervisor) - Northern Wisconsin Center

Overview

Introduction. The Department of Health Services, Northern Wisconsin Center (NWC) is recruiting to fill a Resident Care Supervisor position in Chippewa Falls. This position will work 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm), including every other weekend.

NWC is a short-term assessment and treatment facility for individuals who have an intellectual disability as well as a mental illness and aggressive or challenging behaviors. The programming is designed to prepare people to live successfully in a community setting. NWC is one of three centers for individuals with intellectual disabilities managed by DHS. Responsibilities

As the Resident Care Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising, directing, and monitoring activities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)/Resident Care Technicians (RCTs), custodians and other unit assigned staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing, developing and implementing Active Treatment Plans (ATPs) for assigned individuals.
  • Directing staff in implementing treatment programs designed by a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Monitoring individuals’ progress.
  • Participating as a member in the team planning and review process.
  • Providing for daily living needs of individuals through management of human and material resources, and providing a safe, enjoyable, and healthful living environment.
Salary Information

The starting salary is between $35.78 to $36.76 per hour (approximately between $74,400 and $76,400 per year), depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. The Resident Care Supervisor is in pay schedule and range 81/04.

Job Details

All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the NWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.

This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, and twisting.

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental illness in a health care setting (e.g., group home, state institution/facility, community based residential facility, psychiatric hospital, etc.).
