Kindergarten Limited-Term Teacher’s Aide

The Kindergarten Limited-Term Teacher’s Aide provides part-time, as-needed support in a kindergarten classroom to ensure a safe, nurturing, and well-organized learning environment. This role assists the classroom teacher with student supervision, mobility, transitions, instructional support, and daily routines. The aide helps promote positive behavior, student engagement, and smooth classroom operations while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

This position is limited-term and scheduled based on classroom needs.

• Bachelors Degree required.
• Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or similar setting preferred.
• Ability to support the physical needs of kindergarten-aged students, including assisting with movement and transitions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow direction from the classroom teacher.
• Patient, dependable, and attentive to student safety.
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

• Assist students with safe movement throughout the school day, including hallways, stairs, arrival, and dismissal.
• Support classroom transitions to ensure students move safely and calmly between activities.
• Provide supervision during recess to promote a safe, inclusive, and positive play environment.
• Supervise the classroom when the teacher briefly steps out, maintaining established routines and expectations.
• Assist with lunch transitions and supervision as needed.

• Support students during lessons by helping them follow directions, working with small groups, or providing individual assistance.
• Reinforce classroom expectations and help students stay engaged in learning activities.
• Assist the teacher with preparation of instructional materials, including copying, laminating, cutting, and organizing materials.

• Reinforce kindergarten routines, procedures, and positive behavior expectations.
• Monitor students’ physical and emotional needs throughout the day.
• Communicate observations or concerns promptly and appropriately to the classroom teacher.
