We are seeking an Applications Specialist of Solid Round and Insert Cutting Tools. A successful representative is responsible for account management and generating new opportunities for the organization. The main task involves understanding customers' needs in metalworking, educating customers, prospects, and distributors of GWS Tool Group's products and capabilities, and effectively communicating customer needs back to the GWS Tool Group team.
Responsibilities- Scheduling appointments and meeting existing customers to review applications and product requirements.
- Conduct sales presentations by meeting customers physically on a daily basis.
- Coordinate with customers to provide up-to-date conditions on pricing, service, and the latest product releases.
- Generate and develop prospect accounts to increase revenue, partnering with the distribution chain.
- Continuously update customers on product modifications, changes, and enhancements.
- Enhance knowledge of new products, procedures, services, and tools by attending departmental and training meetings.
- Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company positively.
- Attend conferences and trade shows.
- Use marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency with relevant sales management tools.
- Organize joint sales calls and attend them with distributors.
- Prepare reports for sales and marketing and maintain expense accounts.
- Update and maintain customer accounts, including contact names and numbers for future sales.
- Provide product quotes to customers as needed with inside sales support.
- Ensure follow-up after passing leads to managers with complete profile customer information, calls-to-action, sources, and dates.
- 1‑3 years of manufacturing background focusing on milling, turning, grooving.
- Knowledgeable in tooling and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to assist customers with processing parts and correct application of tools.
- Experience in job shops, high volume.
- Assistance with proper speeds and feeds for materials used.
- Experience designing special tools is highly regarded.
- Experience processing customer parts from drawing to finished product.
- Account management for current customers.
- Proven ability to develop new customers.
- Degree in any sales and marketing field highly regarded.
- Preserve confidential information.
- Effective time management, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and outgoing personality.
- Prospect new accounts.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Team player under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge and some experience in own discipline through education and experience.
- Understanding of business aspects while acquiring further knowledge.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and analyze information to make judgments.
- Exchange simple information, ask questions, check for understanding.
- Use assigned methods, tools, and processes; support sharing of best practices.
- Lifting up to 15 pounds at times.
- Travel required; must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel 50%.
