ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience as a staff RN, with direct critical care/ICU experience
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems required
• Ability to complete all healthcare onboarding requirements (background check, drug screening, health screenings, competency exams)

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in the ICU
• Provide direct clinical support and critical care to patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
• Educate and guide patients and their families regarding care plans and recovery
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams on patient status, hemodynamic monitoring, and diagnostic results
• Respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response
• Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Mentor and support fellow nursing staff, upholding ICU and hospital standards of care
