Scott Engineering is looking for a skilled welder who, under close supervision, operates arc and heliarc equipment to weld metal cabinets, frames, and small parts. You will also perform additional duties, following all safety procedures, and assist other departments as needed.
Responsibilities- Check welding equipment for proper operations.
- Sets up a job for welding.
- Obtains and positions clamps.
- Prepares welding wire for feeding.
- Level frame for welding and determine proper welding spots, types, and sizes given stress requirements.
- Use wrenches, ratchets, grinders, and hand tools as needed.
- Clean and maintain the work area.
- Responsible for consistently meeting quality and production standards.
- May assist with sheet metal, fabrication, grinding, and assembly work for crews as needed.
- Able to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of a variety of welding methods.
- Able to make accurate calculations and measurements to ensure perfect fitment.
- Able to read a tape measure.
- Able to keep up with production needs.
- Attendance/punctuality - consistently at work and on time.
- Ethics - treat people with respect.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1–3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to lift, carry, move, push, pull heavy material 25+ lbs.
- Able to consistently wear proper PPE.
- Welders need to be able to climb stairs, ladders, etc.
- Welders need to be able to withstand a heat/cold work environment.

Compensation: $23 - $26 hourly
