As the building's designated safety champion, you will build relationships, influence positive change, and support Amazon’s commitment to safety excellence.
Responsibilities- Safety Program Excellence & Implementation: drive data-driven safety programs; lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments; implement innovative solutions to prevent injuries; deliver engaging safety training that promotes a proactive safety culture; champion continuous improvement to enhance safety and maintain operational efficiency.
- Associate Advocacy & Cultural Leadership: act as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing; foster a culture where safety is everyone’s priority through communication, coaching, and positive reinforcement; build relationships with frontline associates and leadership; transform safety data into narratives that drive engagement and positive change.
- Operational and environmental duties:
Lift up to 49 pounds; stand/walk up to 12 hours; work in variable noise levels and temperatures; climb stairs as required; participate in emergency care when needed. - Shift flexibility: be available to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
- Safety readiness: ensure appropriate safety measures, participate in emergency response, and maintain first aid readiness where applicable.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related background, or 6 months of safety-related experience within Amazon
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a safety-related field - Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
- Experience leading and managing a team, analyzing accident data, evaluating new processes and machinery for safety concerns, and conducting job hazard analyses
- Experience in emergency response and current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Experience in workers compensation case management
- First aid, CPR, and AED certification (if not held, must obtain within 3 weeks of start date)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation includes sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and more.
