Seafood Department Head
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Seafood Department Manager is responsible for Seafood department operation by achieving its profit/loss results, business goals and customer requests. The position also needs to support the Store Manager on other matters as assigned.
Established in 1993, T&T Supermarket is Canada’s favorite and largest Asian specialty supermarket chain. You Will- Manage overall department performance, including ordering, inventory control, and promotional planning to achieve sales and operational goals.
- Monitor market trends and customer feedback to develop effective response strategies.
- Supervise and support staff performance through coaching, on-the-job training, and teamwork-building initiatives.
- Ensure product quality, freshness, and cleanliness, including maintaining clean and well‑kept fish tanks, and strict FIFO practice.
- Conduct quality checks during receiving and manage inventory in both display and walk‑in coolers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being attentive, approachable, and responsive to customer needs and concerns.
- Lead by example by actively participating in all hands‑on tasks within the Seafood Department.
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department.
- Good communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role preferred, demonstrating strong leadership and training abilities.
- Basic knowledge of profit and loss control; able to interpret data and analyze market trends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Well-versed in workplace health and safety practices.
- Strong knowledge of merchandise management, including inventory control and promotional execution.
- Familiar with tools and equipment relevant to the role; able to accurately interpret product labels.
- Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Self‑motivated, accountable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
