Report to the Store Manager, the Grocery Department Manager is responsible for Grocery department operation by achieving its profit/loss results, business goals, customer requests. The position also needs to support the Store Manager on other matters as assigned.

T&T Supermarkets is marking over 30 years as Canada’s favorite Asian grocery store and recently announced multiple new store locations in the United States. Our growth into the US offers great opportunities within our first US flagship store, opened in 2024 in Bellevue, Washington in the Marketplace at Factoria, spanning 76,000 sq.ft. and standing as the largest Asian specialty supermarket in Washington state.

We have established our regional office in the greater Los Angeles area to grow T&T Supermarket’s vendor base with American food suppliers.

• Oversee overall department performance and achieve sales and operational goals through effective planning and execution.
• Manage merchandise ordering, inventory control, and promotional activities to drive department success.
• Supervise daily operations and staff performance; monitor labor productivity and ensure efficient workflow.
• Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and support to team members; foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Collect and analyze market trends and customer feedback to develop responsive strategies.
• Ensure product quality and freshness, and strictly follow FIFO practices.
• Perform quality control during receiving; manage inventory in display areas, backrooms, walk-in coolers, freezers, and the grocery warehouse.
• Deliver exceptional customer service through friendly interactions, attentiveness, and timely issue resolution.
• Lead by example through active participation in all hands-on tasks within the Grocery Department.
• Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department.

• Good communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role preferred, demonstrating strong leadership and training abilities.
• Basic knowledge of profit and loss control; able to interpret data and analyze market trends.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Well-versed in workplace health and safety practices.
• Comfortable working occasionally in low-temperature (0–4°C) and freezing (-18°C) environments.
• Strong knowledge of merchandise management, including inventory control and promotional execution.
• Familiar with tools and equipment relevant to the role; able to accurately interpret product labels.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Self‑motivated, accountable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
