Position:
Medical Assistant / Receptionist
Shift: Day | 5x8-Hour (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday)
OverviewPosition Summary: The Medical Assistant/Receptionist will support family medicine outpatient clinical operations. This role involves a blend of front office receptionist duties and clinical support, including patient rooming, vitals collection, injections, wound care, and assisting with minor procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and manage front desk duties including phone triage and appointment scheduling
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and allergy information
- Assist providers with physicals, well-child exams, wound care, and injections
- Prepare and set up for minor procedures
- Call patients with test results and follow-up messaging
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system
- Maintain professionalism including dress code compliance (black scrubs, natural hair color, no visible tattoos)
- Collaborate effectively with providers, staff, and patients to ensure smooth clinic operations
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification (MA CERT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 6 months to 1 year experience in a Medical Assistant role with receptionist/front office experience
- Experience working with pediatric and adult patients in outpatient settings
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Knowledge of Vaccines for Children (VFC) program preferred
- Strong communication skills and work ethic; team player
- Experience with family medicine or outpatient clinics
- Familiarity with EMR systems and basic office software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy clinical environment
