Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Weekends Day Shift

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and record medication administration; educate residents as needed.
  • Assist in creating and managing nursing care plans; participate in evaluating current and future medical needs.
  • Provide personal care assistance, perform nursing procedures, and mentor and coach Health Care Aides.
  • Work with residents to meet care requirements; communicate concerns to doctors and managers as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing competence through knowledge, skills, judgment, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adults.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial continuing care health service standards, legislation, codes, regulations, and safety statutes.
  • Follow accident and injury prevention protocols through safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of Nursing diploma.
  • Registered with the provincial nursing association and in good standing.
  • Experience in a residential care setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple resident requests.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Compassion, professionalism, and proficiency in assisting residents.

Do you hold an active unrestricted BCCN&M License, CLPNA, and/or CRNA License? * Yes No

Do you have two or more years of full-time Canadian nursing experience? (Must have 2800 hours of nursing experience, generally equivalent to 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time or multiple casual years) * Yes No

Have you completed all current provincial required vaccinations, including Tuberculosis, Influenza, and others? * Yes No

Do you have a valid CPR and First Aid certification? (CPR, First Aid)
