Are you passionate about engineering and marine technology? AMC, a division of Advan Tec Marine, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Engineer 1 to join our dynamic team in Chilliwack, BC. We design, engineer, and manufacture specialty marine closures for customers worldwide, including navies, governments, and super yacht builders.

The Role

As Engineer 1, you’ll report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with team leads, sales, design, and production teams. You’ll support product and process development for both internal and external customers, focusing on innovation and quality. This is an office-based position with frequent visits to warehouse/manufacturing facilities. This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Our Engineer 1 positions offer a competitive starting salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 per yea

Key Responsibilities:

Produce models and drawings for new and existing products for sales, procurement, and production.

Develop ROI business models for new product/process proposals.

Finalize bills of materials for procurement and production.

Lead design aspects of DFMA initiatives and propose product/process improvements.

Provide drawings and modeling for proposals and reviews.

Produce and interpret Finite Element Analysis models.

Oversee development and prototype production of new products.

Prepare documentation for new products, including drawings, BOM, specifications, and test plans/reports.

Suggest and implement improvements for existing products and processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

EIT designation is an asset.

5+ years’ engineering experience.

3–5 years’ experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD 2D.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Marine/Naval Architect accreditation is an asset.

Experience in electrical design, hydraulics, pneumatics, and structural design is an asset.

Experience with Visual ERP system is an asset.
