Driving School Instructor

Join AAA Driving School as a Full-Time Driver Training Instructor! Make a meaningful impact by helping create safer roads in your community. AAA is hiring full-time Driver Training Instructors to join our dedicated Driving School team. In this role, you’ll teach safe driving techniques to students of all ages and experience levels, foster a positive learning environment, and apply your knowledge of state driving laws with patience and professionalism.

• Hourly Pay: $22.00/hour
• Sign‐On Bonus (External Candidates Only): $1,000 for non‑licensed instructors or $2,000 for licensed Ohio Driving Instructors
• Schedule – Full‑Time (37.5 hours/week):
  We’re looking for team members with flexible availability to work 7.5‑hour shifts across both day and evening hours. Weekend availability is required for at least one day, with both days preferred. Weekly schedules may vary depending on student demand.

• Deliver behind‑the‑wheel instruction to students of varying ages and experience levels, following AAA’s curriculum and training standards.
• Use our driving school software to track and manage student progress.
• Assess student performance and provide personalized guidance.
• Stay current on safe and defensive driving practices and maintain all required state documentation.

• Experience in driving instruction, education, or the automotive industry.
• Confidence working with the public, especially teens.
• A strong commitment to promoting safe driving habits.
• Flexibility to accommodate student schedules, including weekday afternoons and at least one weekend day.
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods, hear and see in all weather conditions, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25lbs.
• Must be capable of safely assuming control of the vehicle from the passenger seat during instruction or emergency situations.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
• Must obtain state‑issued Driving School Instructor license, which includes passing a DMV‑required physical exam.
• Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
