As Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for ensuring our food is delicious. You’ll order supplies, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and train others to become future Kitchen Leaders.

The Kitchen Leader helps ensure the quality and safety of Chipotle’s food each day, keeps the kitchen clean and organized, and maintains equipment in good condition. They serve as a role model for Crew members and promote teamwork and excellent customer experience.

• Follow Chipotle’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures.
• Monitor food waste and inventory levels and resolve food quality issues.
• Support a strong team dynamic between back‑of‑house and front‑of‑house Crew.
• Develop Crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders.
• Communicate with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great service and throughput.
• Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair; repair malfunctioning equipment promptly.
• Ensure that the kitchen and all Crew members meet safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents.
• Fill out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and follow Inventory Rotation (FIFO) procedures.

• Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy.
• Ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
• High school diploma.
• Experience in a restaurant setting.
