Teacher ; Career-Tech - Carpentry

What You’ll Do

This position works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education.

• Provides instruction in basic fundamentals of carpentry (e.g., types of wood, safety practices, equipment used, related math measurements) and individual assistance.
• Assesses educational needs of inmates.
• Develops lesson plans to address those needs, including individual assignments and training.
• Provides instruction and individual assistance.
• Administers, scores, and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators.
• Maintains discipline and/or security.
• Counsel students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress).
• Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed.
• Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials.
• Attends in‑service training sessions and workshops for professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Must meet eligibility requirement for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career‑tech – carpentry & grade level as assigned;
Teacher 1, 71381, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement.

NOTE:

Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
