What You’ll Do
This position works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education.
- Provides instruction in basic fundamentals of carpentry (e.g., types of wood, safety practices, equipment used, related math measurements) and individual assistance.
- Assesses educational needs of inmates.
- Develops lesson plans to address those needs, including individual assignments and training.
- Provides instruction and individual assistance.
- Administers, scores, and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators.
- Maintains discipline and/or security.
- Counsel students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress).
- Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed.
- Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials.
- Attends in‑service training sessions and workshops for professional development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must meet eligibility requirement for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career‑tech – carpentry & grade level as assigned;
Teacher 1, 71381, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement.
NOTE:
Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
