Experienced Painter

Lead Painter – Chico, CA

Chico Spherion Staffing is seeking a Lead Painter to work for a local painting contractor.

Duties below are required once hired on Perm with our client. Ask Spherion for the required job duties for the Temp to Hire role.

• Selecting the correct tools and paints for projects.
• Preparing walls and other surfaces before painting.
• Mixing and applying paints, varnishes, and sealants for a lasting finish.
• Covering exposed objects and surfaces.
• Using fillers such as putty and plaster to repair cracks.

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Experience with brush, roller, striping machine, taping and masking equipment, spray equipment, sand and water blaster, air compressor, drywall tools and equipment, hand tools, ladder, and scaffolding.
• Ability to properly apply paints; spraying experience preferred.
• Job requires frequent walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
• Work outside and inside; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding; and around machinery with moving parts.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, excessive noises, fumes, and toxic chemicals. Frequent district wide travel.
• Knowledge of and ability to mix paint to match colors.

1–4 years

• Must have 5+ years experience.
• Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in painting trade.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to use a computerized maintenance management system for work order processing.

High School diploma or equivalent.
