Public Health Nurse for the Infectious Disease Control program within the Emergency Preparedness and Infectious Disease Control Division of Public Health.
New baccalaureate nursing graduates are welcome to apply for PHN I position using a California Board of Registered Nurses BRN interim permit (IP) but must receive RN License and PHN Certificate within 6 months of hire.
PHN - Infectious Diseases Program
:
This position, Infectious Diseases Public Health Nurse, responds to cases and outbreaks of notifiable diseases, working closely with partners in the Public Health Laboratory, Environmental Health, and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Duties include but are not limited to leading communicable disease case investigations and outbreak response in a wide variety of settings; conducting surveillance and case reporting via CalREDIE of all Title 17 notifiable conditions, which includes client interviews and regular interpretation of laboratory and clinical data to determine case status;
and providing education and guidance to members of the public and health care providers on key disease control and prevention strategies.
This recruitment is for Level I and Level II.
