What does an ILS Specialist do?
The role of the Program Specialist working in the Independent Living Services (ILS) department is to guide people to greater independence in their homes and community through practical training and mentorship. You will work with adults one-on-one who have set goals to achieve, specializing your coaching and training to their individual needs.
- Money management: staying on budget/creating budgets
- Outdoor activities: fishing, walking, going to the park, etc.
- Community/ social confidence: seeking new connections, attending community events, gaining self confidence in social environments
- Cooking skills: food prep, cooking temperatures, cutting, chopping, food storage, kitchen safety
- Cleaning/ basic home maintenance: laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting, mopping
- Self advocating skills: gaining confidence to use their voice based on their values and personal preference
- Healthcare, first aid, medication pick up
- Personal safety/ mobility skills
- Any additional personalized goals

Schedule:
You’ll be matched with 1-3 people to support with person centered goals. Scheduled hours are Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour
Part-time: 14-29 hours a week to start, potential for more in the future.
Service locations: Chico and Paradise
The ideal candidate would:- Have patience

- Have great communication skills
- Have good attention to detail
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
- Ability to pass a driving record check.
- Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.

As a part-time staff, you will receive sick time (40 hours for the year), paid holidays, and education assistance.
Pay Scale:Starting rate: $18.25 per hour
Maximum Pay Rate: $19.25 per hour based on years of experience at Mains’l.
