ResponsibilitiesLecturer positions carry responsibilities in teaching lower and upper division undergraduate courses and some graduate courses. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications and departmental needs.
Minimum QualificationsThe minimum education requirement is a Master of Arts in a related field for undergraduate courses and a PhD in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, or a related field for graduate courses. For language positions, demonstrate advanced proficiency in the language to be taught and knowledge of communicative teaching methodologies.
Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in the area of specific need and evidence of effective teaching.

The DepartmentThe Department of Languages and Cultures offers majors and minors in Spanish, German, Asian Studies, and Latin American Studies, and minors in Japanese, French, Italian, European Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, and African Studies.
