As an Associate Project Manager, you will be responsible for completing all assigned tasks by organizing and controlling all elements of a project. This position will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. Your ultimate responsibility is to bring a budgeted and successful project to life while satisfying all parties involved.
HowYou Will Contribute
- Participate in all phases of the project cycle: pre-fielding, estimating, development, construction, billing, and final acceptance.
- Coordinate with the Superintendents regarding daily schedules, including manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
- Assist in creating the baseline schedule from the job estimate.
- Write effective proposals, RFIs, and letters of intent.
- Schedule and attend pre-construction with Project Managers and Superintendents.
- Communicate with internal team, public officials, general public, and customers regarding project plans & designs, identified problems, proposed solutions, and estimated time frames.
- Create sub-contract agreements and manage sub-contractors.
- Review daily timecards/quantities and generate master/field files.
- Responsible for assisting with billings, WIP reports, forecasts, project cash flow, etc.
- Ability to manage and complete several projects concurrently, depending on scope and complexity.
- Interpret applicable codes, industry standards, and regulations and educate others.
- Ensure adherence to all Company safety policies and OSHA safety standards.
- Travel to job sites when needed.
- Responsible for the supervision and training of Senior Construction Project Coordinators and Construction Project Coordinators.
- Knowledge of construction procedures.
- Understands the process of building a job from start to finish.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Proficient in planning, scheduling, and production.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical and planning skills.
- Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding MGE’s policies, procedures, and software programs.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Required: 3 years of verifiable utility construction management experience with a degree OR 5 years of verifiable utility construction management experience without a degree.
- Required: Valid Class C Driver’s License; clean driving record and no driving restrictions.
- Preferred: B.S. Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management

Pay: $95,000 to $125,000 annually
This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.
