About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. This role is essential in managing the company's incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of receivables. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, proficiency with various financial software, and excellent communication skills to support our organization’s financial health and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities- Process and monitor accounts receivable transactions using accounting software such as HBS.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of receivable balances.
- Manage the revenue cycle, including invoicing, payment processing, and follow-up on overdue accounts.
- Apply payments accurately to customer accounts and resolve discrepancies through effective communication.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions in accordance with GAAP compliance standards.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable and prepare relevant journal entries.
- Support collections efforts by contacting clients via phone or email, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Collaborate with other departments such as accounts payable, sales, etc as needed.
- Contribute to process improvements in the revenue cycle management process through analysis skills and technical accounting expertise
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ability and willingness to learn HBS software.
- Experience in accounts receivable management within an equipment dealership is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills including 10 key typing accuracy and speed.
- Analytical skills for account reconciliation and account analysis tasks.
- Effective negotiation skills for collections and dispute resolution.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
- Professional communication skills including phone etiquette and customer service orientation.
