Purpose of the RoleAs HS&E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager on all health, safety and environmental matters across the region. You will help embed our HS&E strategy and ensure our projects are delivered to the highest safety and environmental standards.
You will play a key role in supporting operational teams, driving behavioural change, and ensuring legal and internal compliance across our projects.
Key Accountabilities- Promote a strong, inclusive HS&E culture across all operational activities
- Support the implementation of HS&E strategy and systems across the framework
- Embed Galliford Try’s behavioural programme "Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours"
- Provide technical HS&E advice and support to site and project teams
- Ensure effective implementation of the HS&E Management System
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including clients, supply chain and regulators
- Monitor performance using HS&E KPIs and support continuous improvement
- Support incident investigations and ensure effective close out of actions
- Report HS&E performance and issues to the Framework HS&E Manager
- Undertake site inspections, audits and compliance checks
You will bring previous experience in a similar HS&E role within construction, infrastructure, utilities or a related industry. You will be confident working in an operational environment and building positive relationships across teams.
You will have:- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards)
- Experience with in a regulated or infrastructure environment (water industry desirable)
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence operations positively
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Competency in Microsoft Office systems
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
- Member of IOSH or IIRSM
- Working towards TechIOSH / CMIOSH
- NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant discipline
