Initially 3 months

Hours:

30 hours per week
Pay:

£21.00 per hour (Umbrella)
£16 per hour (PAYE)
About the Role West Sussex County Council is committed to maximising adult participation in education and training, helping residents develop skills, confidence, and opportunities throughout their lives. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Adult Learning Tutor to join our Adult Learning team, based in Horsham.

Reporting to a Programme Officer, you will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality adult learning provision that supports our communities—particularly our most vulnerable residents—to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality adult learning programmes aligned with WSCC priorities
Support learners to access, participate in, and progress through suitable education and training opportunities
Work collaboratively with internal WSCC teams, external partners, and stakeholders
Ensure delivery meets ESFA funding requirements and Ofsted quality standards
Monitor learner progress and contribute to continuous improvement of the curriculum
Travel independently to deliver learning at various venues across West Sussex About You

You will be:

An experienced and qualified adult learning tutor with relevant subject specialism(s)
Knowledgeable in ESFA funding rules, Ofsted frameworks, and adult education quality standards
Passionate about community learning and supporting diverse learners
Confident working in partnership across teams and organisations
Able to travel independently and reliably across the county
