Timber Frame Designer

Overview

Timber Frame Designer required to join main contractor based in the Chichester area. The Timber Frame Designer will ideally have worked for a contractor with knowledge of timber frame design, technology / building and built environment and wider aspects of design. Timber Frame Designer will ideally be degree qualified with timbre frame design experience.

• Creating building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacture (CAM) applications
• Working with internal and external design teams
• Ensuring timber frame drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality, and are easy to decipher
• Overseeing the design process using technical expertise
• Reviewing designs with health and safety in mind
• Maintaining thorough documentation of the design process
• Keeping up to date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design
• Working closely with a team of other professionals such as building service engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors, architects, architectural technologists and structural engineers
