Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a well‑established refurbishment contractor, are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent, full‑time basis from their Chichester office. The business delivers a wide range of refurbishment and fit‑out projects across the South of England, with schemes typically ranging from £10k to £3M. With a £15M turnover, 45 office staff and 130 operatives, they offer strong stability, a supportive commercial structure and genuine long‑term progression.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work across both office and site environments (circa 50/50 split), supporting senior commercial staff while gradually taking ownership of their own projects and packages. Typical duties will include:

• Assisting with cost planning, measurement and take‑offs
• Supporting procurement and issuing enquiries
• Helping prepare valuations and applications for payment
• Monitoring costs, variations and subcontract accounts
• Attending site visits and progress meetings
• Supporting reporting and commercial administration
  
  Working closely with senior QSs for mentoring and development

• Minimum 1 year’s Quantity Surveying experience
• Refurbishment, fit‑out or subcontractor background beneficial
• T‑Level, HNC, Degree or similar construction/commercial qualification
• Strong communication and numerical skills
  
  Full UK driving licence

• Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 DOE

The role requires a minimum of one year’s QS experience, ideally gained with a subcontract or within refurbishment/fit‑out. Candidates holding T‑Level, HNC or Degree‑level qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction are encouraged to apply.
