Freight Appointments is working on behalf of a well-established international freight forwarding client in Chicago seeking an experienced Ocean & Air Import Coordinator to join their growing operations team. The Ocean & Air Import Coordinator will be responsible for managing end-to-end import shipments (both ocean and air) from origin through final delivery, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.

• Handle full-cycle Ocean and Air Import shipments
• Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, truckers, and customs brokers
• Prepare and process import documentation (ISF, Arrival Notices, Delivery Orders, etc.)
• Monitor shipment milestones and ensure timely delivery
• Provide accurate billing, cost control, and file profitability review
• Maintain strong communication with customers and internal teams
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and company SOPs
• Resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or claims efficiently

• 2+ years of experience in Ocean and/or Air Import within freight forwarding
• Strong understanding of U.S. import regulations and documentation
• Experience working with CFS, airlines, steamship lines, and trucking providers
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software (Cargo Wise preferred)
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
