As a Transportation Capacity Coordinator
, you’ll support the movement of freight by helping secure reliable transportation for customer shipments. You’ll work closely with carriers and internal sales teams to coordinate loads, negotiate pricing, and ensure freight moves efficiently from pickup to delivery.
This is an entry-level role that offers hands-on training in transportation operations, negotiation, and supply chain strategy. It’s ideal for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to build a long-term career in logistics.
What You’ll Be Doing- Coordinate daily shipments to support on-time pickup and delivery
- Communicate with transportation partners to secure available capacity
- Negotiate rates and confirm shipment details
- Build and maintain relationships with a network of carriers
- Support internal sales teams by ensuring freight coverage
- Assist in resolving transportation challenges in a timely and professional manner
- Monitor shipment progress and communicate updates as needed
- Develop an understanding of freight lanes, geography, and market trends
- Work toward individual and team performance goals
- Apply feedback from leadership to strengthen your operational and negotiation skills
- Escalate issues appropriately while learning company procedures
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (all majors welcome)
- Internship, campus leadership, athletics, or customer-facing experience is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at once
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Excel (advanced functions are a plus, not required)
