Base pay range

$26.00/hr - $36.00/hr

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

Snow and Ice Removal
  • Operate snow removal equipment such as snow blowers, snowplows, shovels, and salt spreaders.
  • Clear snow and ice from designated areas, including walkways, driveways, parking lots, and roadways.
  • Apply de‑icing materials like salt or sand to prevent further ice formation.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform basic maintenance and inspections on snow removal equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or damage to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
Safety Compliance
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries while working in cold and slippery conditions.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, waterproof boots, and warm clothing.
Clearing Obstructions
  • Remove obstacles and obstructions from snow and ice‑covered areas, ensuring they are safe for use.
Snow Stacking and Piling
  • Stack and pile snow in designated areas, away from traffic and pedestrian pathways.
  • Maintain clear sightlines and ensure snow piles do not obstruct visibility.
Record Keeping
  • Report records of work performed, including the areas cleared, materials used, and any issues encountered and submit daily or periodic reports to supervisors.

Teamwork
  • Collaborate with other snow removal laborers and supervisors to efficiently complete tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate efforts.
Shift Work
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, as snow removal often requires immediate attention.
Physical Requirements
  • This job may require lifting, pushing, and shoveling heavy snow, so physical strength and endurance are important.
Customer Service
  • Provide courteous and professional service, especially when working in areas that serve the public, such as commercial properties or residential communities.
Qualifications

Typically, include a valid driver’s license, the ability to operate snow removal equipment, and physical fitness to handle the demands of the job. Prior experience in snow removal or a similar field may also be preferred. Additionally, depending on the location, we may require a commercial driver’s license (CDL) if operating larger snow removal vehicles like snowplows.
