Indoor Climbing Wall Instructor - After School Children's Program

Distributed by Lakeshore Sport & Fitness – Illinois Center, 211 N. Stetson Avenue, Chicago, IL. This full‑service health club features a 110‑foot top‑rope climbing wall in a seven‑story atrium.

The role involves teaching and supervising children aged 5 to 16 during after‑school climbing sessions. Sessions run from Tuesday, January 6th to March 10th, 2026, with class times 3:30 pm–5:30 pm. Additional shifts are available on Tuesday 5 pm–8 pm and Sunday 11 am–3 pm.

• Belay and instruct children ages 5–16 enrolled in the after‑school program.
• Maintain a safe and clean climbing area.
• Provide excellent customer service to climbers of all skill levels and create a positive climbing experience.
• Teach proper equipment fit, tying, belaying with a Gri Gri/Carabiner combination, safety checks, and clear communication.
• Enforce all climbing wall rules.

$17 per hour, minimum two hours per week. Additional shifts available on Tuesday and Friday evenings, and Sunday afternoon.

• Ability to work with adults and children.

• Previous or current experience in a certified climbing gym (mandatory).
• Flexibility to work weekday afternoons, evenings, and Sunday afternoons.
