Overview
Mount Marty University is pleased to accept applicants for an Assistant Football Coach. This is an exempt, full-time position and must adhere to the regulations stipulated in the Mount Marty University Handbook. The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in program organization, practice and competition preparation, and recruitment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to foster a team culture that is both disciplined and caring.
Responsibilities- Coaching (50%)
- Instruct, teach and coach student-athletes during practice and competition.
- Conduct video analysis and instruction as a teaching and preparation tool.
- Plan practice and competition strategy.
- Identify, evaluate and recruit potential team members to MMU.
- Retain current MMU students as team members.
- Ensure the program meets annual squad size goals.
- Ensure program recruiting activities adhere to University and NAIA policies and procedures.
- Administration (20%)
- Ensure ongoing eligibility of student-athletes in the football program and monitor their academic progress.
- Supervise the assistant coaches.
- Effectively manage fiscal resources to coordinate team travel and recruiting.
- Ensure the program participates in at least one "Champions of Character" activity annually.
- Participate in campus service and leadership opportunities, serving in at least three annually.
- Represent the University at regional, state and national conferences or meetings relating specifically to football.
- Work with SID to provide accurate data for individual and team accomplishments.
- Provide reports and documentation when required by the Director of Athletics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach.
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Minimum of three years of coaching and recruiting experience
- Active First Aid/CPR certification, valid driver’s license, and must complete online NAIA Champions of Character Character-Driven Coaches course
- Demonstrate teamwork, team building and organizational skills
- Commitment to the mission of Mount Marty University
