Head Football Coach – Noble Schools

Join us as the Head Football Coach for Noble Schools, Chicago’s highest‑performing and largest network of public charter high schools. Noble serves over 12,500 students, most of whom are students of color, low‑income, and first‑generation college‑goers.

Overview

The Head Coach works with the Athletic Director and campus leadership to develop a high‑functioning, education‑based football program that enhances the student and family experience and supports Noble’s mission and Core Values.

Responsibilities
  • Create a vision of excellence for the football program.
  • Build a system of communication for coaches, student‑athletes, and families.
  • Ensure compliance with IHSA, CPS, Noble League, and Noble Staff Handbook requirements.
  • Certify assistant coaches and complete required background checks.
  • Provide consistent and appropriate communication to students and families.
  • Deliver a valuable student‑experience to all participants.
  • Coordinate game scheduling, facility usage, and team travel.
  • Maintain program budget with Athletic Director.
  • Present the team with high standards on bench, sidelines, and dressing rooms.
  • Follow coaching dress code and communicate with game officials respectfully.
  • Submit weekly eligibility reports as mandated by IHSA.
Skills and Competencies
  • Interpersonal communication – oral, virtual, and written with staff, students, and families.
  • Efficiency – organize and manage practice and game schedules.
  • Technical – use Excel and Google Sheets for data monitoring, scheduling, and rosters.
  • Timeliness – meet deadlines for compliance and communication.
  • Leadership – guide students as educators toward a shared vision of athletics.
  • Growth mindset – pursue personal and team development.
Compensation & Benefits

Coaching stipends are paid out at the end of the season. Preferred, but not required, applicants may apply for full‑time positions at a Noble school.
