Job Summary

This position assists in supervising and evaluating activities provided in the Sports & Fitness program area in a high-energy, enthusiastic manner.

Weekly Hours & Schedule
  • Part-time, 27 hours per week
  • Monday and Tuesday 12:00pm-6:00pm, Wednesday through Friday 1:00pm-6:00pm
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain the health and safety of all children in the assigned area by ensuring that members understand and follow behavioral expectations and that the room is clean, well-lit, ventilated, and free from hazards.
  • Utilize Youth Development Strategies to ensure members' self-esteem is maintained and enhanced.
  • Assist in providing fun, beneficial, and imaginative programs.
  • Support a culture of respect and trust with members.
  • Continually model and teach character, morals, and ethics.
  • Build positive relationships with member families and the community.
  • Act as an advocate for members and the Club.
  • Attain approval of schedules for programs and post current schedules.
  • Ensure programs begin and end on time.
  • Encourage members to make appropriate choices regarding their needs.
  • Hold members accountable for their behavior.
  • Instill in all members that sportsmanship is more important than winning.
  • Build positive relationships with parents of members.

    Perform administrative tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Demonstrated competence working with youth.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with high energy and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-starter with high expectations for performance.
  • Thorough understanding of the Boys & Girls Club mission and purpose is essential.
  • Reliable transportation, safe driving record, driver's license, and automobile insurance required.
  • Pre-employment drug screening, background, reference, and driver's record checks required.
  • Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist; seeing to review and analyze reports, documents or other reports; hearing and speaking to communicate and provide information to others; speaking to be heard before groups of people; position may require to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects between 10-40 pounds
