About the role
As a Mule Soft Integration Developer
, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise‑grade integration solutions using the Mule Soft Anypoint Platform. You will be a valued member of the Integration Engineering team and work collaboratively with cross‑functional technology and business teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure integrations.
- Develop integration solutions using J2EE, Java Servlets, JMS, EJB, Mule ESB, Mule APIs, and Mule Cloud Hub.
- Troubleshoot and optimize Mule ESB applications using debuggers, flow analyzers, and configuration tools.
- Build and maintain RAML specifications using Mule Soft best practices.
- Contribute to SOA and RESTful architecture design and implement SOAP/REST web services.
- Work with Core Java, JMS messaging, Web APIs, and security protocols such as OAuth and SAML.
- Utilize Anypoint Runtime Manager and enterprise release capabilities to support deployment and monitoring.
- Work with XSLT, CXF, Spring Framework, and related technologies to deliver high‑quality integration solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining highly available integration systems.
- Continuously improve integration performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Based on the business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring work from the client or Cognizant office in Chicago, IL.
What you need to have to be considered- Strong hands‑on expertise in Mule Soft Anypoint Platform, including integration development, API‑led connectivity, and application network design.
- Hands‑on experience with Mule Soft platform administration, performance tuning, and security best practices.
- Proven ability to design and architect scalable integration solutions using modern design patterns and architectural principles.
- Deep understanding of integration needs within industrial manufacturing or similarly complex enterprise environments.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, solution structuring, and estimation for integration projects.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities including team management, cross‑functional collaboration, and execution excellence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Relevant Mule Soft certifications (e.g., Mule Soft Certified Developer, Integration Architect, Platform Architect).
- Additional experience with enterprise‑scale integration modernization initiatives.
- Prior experience driving integration governance frameworks.
- Background working in agile teams delivering iterative integration solutions.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines specifically tailored for Mule Soft deployments.
- Experience mentoring junior integration engineers or developers.

Benefits:The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 – $116,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
