Overall Purpose

This is a hands-on, individual contributor technical leadership role focused on setting and maintaining standards for quality across multiple teams. You will partner with cross-functional teams, contribute to a broad range of initiatives, and stay current with new technologies and industry best practices to bring those practices into the engineering organization.

Essential Functions
  • Partner with product management to craft product strategy, create product descriptions, and ensure alignment to technology roadmaps.
  • Be a thought leader and senior point of expertise on software engineering issues and industry trends. Coach and mentor team members.
  • Own the creation of technical product design and architecture.
  • Create and conduct presentations for small-to-medium size groups.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and build partnerships to improve Early Warning products.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, product, and architecture to shape engineering approaches and share knowledge.
  • Develop, scope, and shape a departmental-wide technical vision for the future.
  • Design/engineer product or application service solutions aligned to the technology strategy roadmap (example: cloud, containerization, CI/CD, automated testing) with a view to future growth, maintainability, operational readiness, and self-service enablement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence and motivate others; act as a catalyst for progressive change management.
  • Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
  • Fifteen or more years of experience designing and developing complex software projects, with at least eight years in Fin Tech.
  • 1–2 years of experience implementing application solutions/services in Cloud using containerization, CI/CD, automated testing, and in compliance with security guidelines.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to create technical solutions.
  • Effective communicator with strong public speaking skills; comfortable presenting to all levels within the company.
  • Knowledge of SDLC best practices, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Lean), and Dev Ops practices.
  • Proven track record designing and building complex end-to-end systems (full-stack developer).
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following technologies:
    • Java RESTful Web Services (Java, J2EE, JUnit, Tomcat)
    • Microservices Architecture
    • Spring Boot / Spring Core
    • Messaging frameworks (Kafka, Tibco EMS, JMS)
    • Oracle PL/SQL
    • JavaScript and scripting frameworks (jQuery, Angular

      JS)
  • Hands-on experience in test automation at unit, component, integration, and functional levels.
  • Proven experience in OOAD/OOA (OOA/OOD).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Chef, Maven, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of modern cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
  • Experience with code repositories (Git, SVN), bug tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla), and Wikis (Confluence).
  • Background and drug screen completed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or another technical field.
  • Knowledge of Splunk, Altiris & Zabbix.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Experience with database design and architecture.
  • Expertise in Terraform and/or other cloud orchestration technologies.
