Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack - Fintech

Hopper is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack to build next‑generation fintech products for travel partners.

The Fintech Ancillaries team powers Hopper’s high‑margin products such as Cancel for Any Reason and Disruption Assistance
. You will design, build, and scale the backend systems that serve these proprietary offerings and integrate them with some of the world’s largest travel companies through Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS).

• Iterate on features in an agile manner using Scala and React and technologies like GCP, OpenAPI, Big Query, Pub/Sub.
• Decide how to best build core systems within Hopper’s microservices architecture.
• Ship code in days, continuously iterating on features.
• Collaborate with a diverse group of people, giving and receiving feedback for growth.
• Execute on big opportunities, helping Hopper rise to the top of the travel industry.

• Brings leading industry techniques and technologies to the table.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability.
• Excelled in cross‑functional teams, working fluidly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other specialists.
• Passionate focus on quality, writing testable code that performs and scales.
• Works with minimal guidance, proactive, handles uncertainty, ambiguity, and quickly evolving goals.
• Prior cloud experience.
• Experience working with Scala and/or React and its libraries.
• Prior travel or eCommerce experience preferred.
• Experience in UX design, using tools like Figma.
