Within a therapeutic residential care setting, Bridges Group Home provides case management services for stabilization and family reunification, life skills development, recreational activities, and weekly support groups for boys aged 14 to 17 and a half.
The Residential Program Manager maintains the day-to-day monitoring, supervision, and oversight of the program staff, with support from a site coordinator. This position will participate in monthly leadership team meetings to strengthen MYSI services, staff, and service delivery. The Residential Program Manager supports the Director of Programs in program/resource marketing and development, with significant responsibility for improving and maintaining program census, outcomes, and compliance with all plan requirements, licensing, federally driven performance-based contracting, and accreditation requirements to protect MYSI from potential exposure to the risk of liabilities.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direct Supervision to Site Coordinator, Residential Youth Advisors (RYAs), and other residential direct care staff. May delegate some aspects of RYA supervision to Site Coordinator.
- Achieve and maintain census targets for the Group Home.
- Ensure that programs operate per program plans, run efficiently, and achieve intended outcomes.
- Participates as an active team member in efforts to move the agency forward, including Strategic Planning, licensing and accreditation, and ad hoc committees as needed.
- Meet with the DCFS performance monitor monthly and submit reports is required/requested.
- Regularly review Medication Logs and medical related documentation and processes.
- Ensure that the youth & staff initiate in-house, group/community activities.
- Maintain a flexible schedule and be available in case of any emergencies.
- Oversee and follow-up with staff to ensure the completion of all required shift documentation and reports across all designated shifts.
- Safeguard the rights, privacy and confidentiality of each youth by having a working knowledge of policies related to Client Rights and Prevention of Abuse and Neglect.
- Maintain professional skills through professional development, workshops, continuing education, and networking.
- Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, case management software including Extended Reach and SACWIS software (as required).
- Two (2) years of full-time experience in a residential care program that includes one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Has demonstrated skill in working with and managing children of the type served in the program.
- Demonstrates the ability to work cooperatively with administration staff and people external to the program.
- Must be able to conceptualize a framework, collect, assemble and present detailed information in an organized, concise and understandable manner.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity to staff and clients served in MYSI programs.
- Demonstrated cultural humility and successful experience working with individuals from the communities to those who are diverse, unhoused, justice-involved, individuals with developmental disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
- MSW or academically equivalent degree
- Be at least 25 years of age
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check as required by 89 Ill. Adm. Code 385 (Background Checks) and submit to fingerprinting and meet transportation requirements.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to access and navigate each of the organization's facilities and residences.
- A valid driver's license and car insurance are required.
- Must have access to and or (possess) a reliable vehicle during your scheduled work shift.
