Position: Family Support Worker (Bilingual)

We are currently searching for two full-time Family Support Workers to join our
Learning and Wellness Center Team!

SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $53,000 and $56,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

Essential Job Functions
  • Implement recruitment efforts including recruitment of children disabilities.
  • Provides services appropriate to client population to maximize client potential and promote their optimal functioning in the community.
  • Responsible for enrolling children and families into an Early Head Start/Head Start center-based program, as well as, providing casework services and referral resources.
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate services relating to child and family well-being, including Disabilities, Health, Mental Health, Nutrition and Family Partnerships.
  • Assist families with procuring required dental and medical records for children enrolled in the program; analyze medical records to determine special needs and requirements for each child.
  • Create and update a Community Resource Directory and serve as the resource person for families to facilitate access to social services within the community.
  • Collaborate with families to complete an accurate family assessment annually and provide intervention, referrals and assistance for interests, needs and circumstances identified.
  • Maintain accurate and current record keeping in the family file by following the established contents of files.
  • Document and provide follow up regarding children’s absences in the program including daily and three day follow up as well as home visits as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Level Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Child Development or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Gateway Family Specialist Credential Level 5 within 90 days of employment is required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities, organize time efficiently and handle multiple demands.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and/or weekends.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance to perform essential job functions.
  • 2+ years of experience in Early Head/Head Start work.
