Job Summary
  • Provides outreach activities focused on victims of human trafficking within the guidelines of the World Health Organization’s Ten Guiding Principles. Outreach activities will result in
  • establish a trusting relationship with potential trafficking victims,
  • build victim-identity
  • assist them to construct a safe, realistic, and culturally-sensitive plan to leave trafficking
  • assist them to create a safe, realistic plan for sustaining life after exit by providing comprehensive case management.
  • Carry out functions that result in achieving expected outcomes as identified in the STOP-IT Program Plan. Special functions may be assigned.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinates, as assigned by the STOP-IT Program Manager, The Cook County Human Trafficking Task Force, ensuring that program objectives are met as outlined by the Enhanced Collaborative model grant. Including but not limited to specific grant outcome reporting measurements, quarterly and biannual reports per guidelines.
  • Coordinates all task force activities for the Cook County Human Trafficking Task Force Steering Committee and all subcommittees. Includes planning and coordination of events, meetings, and subcommittee structures currently in place. Maintains minutes, correspondence with potential new members, and updates task force website regularly.
  • Maintains the STOP-IT 24/hour hotline on assigned day(s) per week, or as assigned to assist with gaps in coverage.
  • Attends the STOP-IT drop-in as assigned to assist with gaps in coverage.
  • Assists with all task force communication on social media, through email correspondence, and in person on behalf of and in coordination with task force leadership.
  • Provides support to the STOP-IT team by assisting with the following tasks including, but not limited to: training, education/awareness events, and program-specific strategic planning around task force activities.
Intra Agency Responsibilities
  • Studies agency policies, procedures, and programs. May contribute ideas and suggestions for change to Director with the knowledge/participation of the immediate supervisor.
  • Performs special administrative assignments or duties as may be delegated.
  • Attends agency’s general, professional, training and consultation meetings. Presents case related information for learning purposes.
  • When necessary, may be asked to perform certain record keeping functions such as typing case notes/recording, filing case records, etc. Takes initiative in maintaining smooth functioning of office which may include answering phone calls, taking messages, opening and closing office, etc.
  • May be assigned to perform services in conjunction with Corps Community Centers, Disaster Services and other Salvation Army programs.
  • Participates in bi-weekly supervisory conferences with the supervisor to discuss current projects and upcoming events. Attends office peer supervision group.
  • Participates on agency committees as assigned.
Community Relations
  • Attends schools, other agency meetings, working groups and/or court hearings as appropriate.
  • Participates in networking with community groups or activities dealing with the social problems of individuals or families.
  • Provides community specific trainings to groups such as law enforcement, medical providers, social service providers and other appropriate community groups.
