Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift

Location: 230 2nd Street, Downers Grove, Illinois 60515

Pay: $34-$40/HR (based on experience and skill level)

Shift Hours: S9:45 PM - 6:15 AM

Please note that starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage needs due to report-offs and the production schedule, especially during holidays. Saturday work is required, typically involving 10-12-hour shifts, with 8-hour shifts on other days. Holiday work is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 volts, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Fluid Power Systems: Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Mechanical Systems: Service and repair mechanical components such as conveyors and packaging equipment.
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs): Experience with VFDs is required.
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs): Experience with PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley systems, is required.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on electrical troubleshooting up to 480 volts, fluid power systems, and mechanical systems such as conveyors and packaging equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Certifications: Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes and high places.
