Overview

Job Title:
Field Service Technician

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for responding to customer service requests by providing excellent customer service. This includes giving detailed explanations regarding the condition of equipment, assessing work to be performed, and updating the status of work orders upon completion. You will build rapport with customers through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine, preventive maintenance and repairs along with installation of air compressors, air dryers, pumps, and vacuum equipment.
  • Be willing and able to be on-call for a week at a time, in rotation with other technicians, to respond to service calls after business hours.
  • Troubleshoot and perform diagnostic assessments to determine probable cause for malfunctions and suggest and perform repairs with customer approval.
  • Collect oil samples, complete all required information, seal them properly for shipping, and complete detailed paperwork supporting the condition of the equipment.
  • Assist the Service Manager with preparing service quotations occasionally.
  • Maintain and track company tools and van inventory, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Complete all assigned safety training and advocate for safety by following company policies and procedures.
  • Progress through the Company’s Good-To-Great Program to develop knowledge, skills, and ability to perform quality service.
  • Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in air compressor service, field service, and performing maintenance and PMs on air compressors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform diagnostic assessments.
  • Experience in the installation of air compressors, air dryers, pumps, and vacuums.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • A technical degree is preferred.
  • Must possess own basic tools; job-specific tooling will be provided or evaluated upon request.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Internet proficiency.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and a strong sense of customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player with internal and external staff members.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and be willing to travel overnight occasionally.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, and be on-call with little notice.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and verbally with individuals of various educational and technical backgrounds.
  • Previous experience with pumps, compressors, refrigeration, piping, and vacuum equipment is an asset.

Work Environment

Work in a hands-on environment where you will be required to travel to customer sites. You will be part of a rotational on-call schedule to provide support outside of regular business hours. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $/yr.
