Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician - Commercial HVAC Servicing Company - Base Salary to 55.00/hour - Chicago, IL

Our client mechanical service company serves the Greater Chicagoland area. The company provides preventative maintenance, commercial HVAC equipment repair and installation.

Currently they are seeking a Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, enjoy mentoring junior techs in the industry, and be looking for a company to grow with.

• Understanding of mechanical and HVAC systems
• Able to diagnose/repair/replace components on equipment greater than 20 tons
• Diagnose, assess, and troubleshoot various types of HVAC equipment, including but not limited to chillers, boilers, air handlers, large (over 20-ton) rooftop units, split systems, water-source heat pumps, pumps, and miscellaneous plant equipment
• Performs disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial HVAC equipment to perform troubleshooting and planned maintenance as indicated in the service agreement
• Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and blueprints
• General understanding of test and balance
• Working conditions include being on a roof or in a mechanical room for extended periods of time
• Working on ladders and carrying tools and sometimes heavy equipment
• Operating in a safe manner according to all OSHA regulations. Wearing proper personal protective gear

• 5+ years’ experience as a commercial HVAC service technician or related position
• HVAC certification or relevant trade school education preferred but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Base salary in the 35.00 – 55.00/hour range
