Position Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for day-to-day maintenance with a long-term solution mindset at Target Field. The correct candidate is forward-thinking and offers ingenuity as a strong trait. Has the ability to conform to the rigorous schedule supporting professional baseball.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are responsibilities with reasonable accommodations as needed to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Arrives at Target Field in 50 minutes or less
- Performs inspections on generators
- Meets “on call” needs for a rotational schedule
- Inspects, cleans, repairs, and lubricates portable sump pumps and drain systems
- Inspects, lubricates, troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts controls of all heating/cooling pumps and mixing valves
- Tests, cleans, lubricates, monitors, and inspects compressors and vacuum pumps; repairs and replaces components (including filters).
- Inspects, lubricates, repairs, cleans coils, and maintains (including filters) air handling equipment, including fixed blade axial fans and fume hood systems
- Tests and inspections for fire extinguishers and all associated fire suppression systems, including pumps, motors, valves, dry systems, etc.
- Operates and maintains all HVAC systems throughout Ballpark
- Applies working knowledge of refrigeration systems (EPA refrigerant certification preferred)
- Maintains and replaces light fixtures/bulbs, and ballasts
- Cleans waste from fixtures, drain pans, and plumbing drain systems
- Identifies and orders spare parts, manages inventory
- Tests and maintains heat trace pipe warmers
- Adjust temperatures of HVAC using the BMS, hot water systems, and flush water heaters
- Replaces fan sheaves, shafts, bearings, and motors
- Repairs flushometers, faucets, and toilet flush assemblies
- Maintains and repairs small engines, motors, equipment, doors, locks, and tools
- Repairs motors and pump
- Performs minor electrical maintenance (switch/outlet plates, replaces lamps, reset breakers, etc.)
- Maintains and repairs general building systems and hardware
- Maintains and replaces bathroom accessories
- Performs welding
- Working knowledge of CMMS building software; order entry, inventory control, systems scheduling, equipment maintenance, work order searches, and ordering parts
- Communicate with supervisor regarding equipment or supplies in need of repair or replenishment, also of facilities in need of repair or upkeep
- Maintains and repairs overhead doors, pedestrian doors, and hardware
- Plans and performs winterization shutdown/start-up activities throughout the Ballpark
- Operates equipment and is responsible for snow removal on the property
- Maintains vehicles and equipment
- Perform various inspections throughout the facility
- Assists others in the organization as assigned
- Vocational education in mechanical maintenance or trades, totaling two years and three years of applicable work experience
- Must possess knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fire suppression systems in large facilities
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Needs to read and understand Building plans and system diagrams.
- Understand and use basic Microsoft products.
- Licensing/Certifications in:
Electrical, Plumbing, Pipe Fitting, Pool, Refrigeration, CFC, Valid driver's license, confined space, Forklift, Man lift, CPR, Haz Mat, or OSHA 10-hour.
- Ability to lift items weighing as much as 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces wearing proper PPE
- Ability to work in extreme hot/cold, dirty spaces
