Entry Level HVAC/R Tech – Filtrex Service Group

Job Description

Filtrex is a nationwide company searching for skilled technicians to perform thorough preventative maintenance on all heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment across various facilities. Duties include inspection and cleaning of all HVAC/R equipment. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, responsible, professional, and has basic smartphone skills for digital communication and documentation.

Typical Schedule and Working Conditions

Technicians travel three weeks per month, work six days per week, with one full week off  to 20 hours of overtime per week may be required. Work is performed in diverse conditions, including mechanical rooms, extreme weather, wet/damp environments, and dimly lit enclosures. Tasks involve lifting up to 10 lbs routinely and occasionally up to 50–100 lbs.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform standard preventive maintenance tasks (filter changes, belt replacement/adjustment, coil cleaning, ice machine cleaning, condensate pan maintenance).
  • Conduct visual and auditory inspections to assess proper function.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend actions to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.
  • Complete preventive maintenance forms on mobile app, taking photos and documenting work.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year HVAC experience.
  • Ice machine experience preferred.
  • 3‑year clean driving record.
  • EPA license preferred.
  • OSHA 10 license preferred.
  • Technologically savvy.
  • Must pass a background check.
Ability to
  • Function independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain the highest standards on work performed.
  • Maintain security and accountability on access to equipment and facilities.
  • Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices.
