Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) – Joliet, IL

Equipment Share is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at our Joliet rental facility. We’re growing with a focus on maintenance and repair for a variety of customer and company owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts. Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on the newest fleet in the industry.

• Use our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues quickly by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models.
• Determine root causes and corrective actions to enable faster, smarter work.
• Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
• Participate in year-round OEM training provided by the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must own tools applicable to the position.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
• High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred.
• Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred.
• Physical ability to move, stand, stoop and bend; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• This is a safety-sensitive position; offer contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime after 40 hours. On-call during weekends in special circumstances. Salary range: $37.80 - $54.00/hr; factors include past experience and location may affect final compensation.
