Overview
CBSL Transportation Services, Inc. is seeking a Chassis Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic.
Location:
4750 S. Merrimac Ave., Chicago, IL 60638. The Shop Mechanic will work under the direction of the Shop Manager and is responsible for chassis/tank repair, 90-day inspections, tank trailer maintenance, brakes, HM183 inspections, and other duties as assigned. Compliance with all company policies and proper documentation of work on the computer-based work planner system is required. Shift work may be discussed.

- Tank Trailer Maintenance
- Brakes
- HM183 Inspections
- Coordinate repairs with other departments
- Monitor and adhere to inventory management system
- Respond to customer concerns, complaints, etc.
- Process orders and determine customer needs
- Communicate inventory to customers / in and out shipments
- Adhere to current programs and policies to ensure safety and environmental regulatory compliance
- Chassis repair experience
- Basic welding knowledge (MIG) on carbon steel
- Able to use gas cutting torch
- Experience with ABS Systems
- Ability to lift 75 lbs
- Ability to work in an open-air workshop
- Trailer cladding repair experience desired
- Possess required tools of the trade
- High School Diploma / GED
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
